About Me

I have built a career at the intersection of journalism, the business of media, and personal finance. This means that I am a communicator at heart, and know how to listen and connect the dots to understand your money story.  I grew up in Miami after my family immigrated from the Dominican Republic. I now live on the East Coast. I love solo travel, anything that takes me to the water, weightlifting, listening to old school R&B, personal development, and cannot pass up on a juicy True Crime show. I'm a native Spanish speaker.

My Money STory

I fell in love with the power of money in my 20s. I moved to Chicago, but reached panic mode when I realized I had not accounted for what it would take to make ends meet on my own. I vowed to get smart about money, checked out almost every book I could on personal finances, and journaled all of my spending. This enabled me to pay off all my student loans, high-interest credit card debt, build a 401k investment portfolio, and purchase a house.

About Me

I am a divorced mom of two college-aged kids, living in Little Silver, NJ. I'd like to say I live a relatively active lifestyle when I'm not working! I love the ocean, am an avid swimmer and compete in open ocean swims during the summer here in New Jersey. I grew up in Miami Beach so that was an adjustment! I also am a volunteer on my local EMS squad where I serve my community as a first responder and ambulance driver. I enjoy this immensely and it gives me a sense of purpose and pride. I am passionate about helping others with their personal finances, especially during unforeseen difficult times such as divorce.

I’m a coastal Virginia transplant currently living in the mountains of east Tennessee where you can find me playing all the sports and doing all the outdoor activities. I like hiking, playing sand volleyball, lifting weights, or any other activity I have the opportunity to do! When I’m not out adventuring, I love to start my days sipping coffee, working on the NY Times puzzles, and writing in my gratitude journal. Quality time is incredibly important to me and it means the world to me when I get to connect with my loved ones.
